  Perfect place to whale watch from the coast. Plenty of free parking. You can borrow binoculars from the interpretive center next door. You can not access the lighthouse as it is on coast guard property behind a fence. There are also many great walking/hiking trails from this location.
  
  There is a Starbucks and a Subway right up the street at the end of Hawthorne. Grab a lunch and enjoy the picnic tables, grass or benches.
